Native American? Basket

This Basket was given to me by an 80+ yr old neighbor as a house warming gift (sewing basket filled with thread, needles, measure tape, etc.) in 1983. She said she bought it from a roadside stand in the 1920's on an Indian Reservation in the desert southwest while coming west by train.

I sent the Pic's on this page to 2 different Indian Art Dealers and neither thought it was of Native American Origin. One said possibly African in origin.

I know it to be at least 30+ years old.... and when received it looked as an antique basket would.

Height is 6 inches and diameter is 10 inches... Condition is very good... Lid would possibly have had some type of hinge/latch/hook. It has no visible markings and no decoration or signs that there ever was any decoration. It had a modern coat button and elastic as a hinge and latch when I received.... obviously something she had done, I removed.
Bottom is flat. Construction is coiled. Wound in clockwise direction when viewed from the top looking down inside. This means constructed from left to right.... the normal way for Native baskets.
Weave detail seems unique and I could find no similar weave on WWW site's. Very open and the lacing makes a twist at every attachment point which creates the open style.

Material of construction, Unknown.

So Can Anyone Help Me Identify This So I can sell It??
